Cutting Board Care

Cutting Board Warranty

A simple, yet really elegant addition to any kitchen.  This board features a predominantly hard maple surface for all of your cutting needs, framed in with a rich border of cherry and walnut hardwood for depth and dimension. The end grain design hides and heals the wear and tear from everyday chopping, and keeps it looking fresh.  It also dresses up really nice for serving charcuterie when you’re entertaining guests.  The rubber feet on this board keep it steady on your kitchen counter, and the finger grooves make it very easy to pick up and move around.

If you're like most people, you're probably just desperately looking for a swanky new butcher block that you can pull out for your next NASCAR party at your house.  Maybe the Daytona 500?  ...however, despite the resemblance that the checkers on this board have to our beloved checkered racing flags, any NASCAR party I've ever been to has been more about the light beer, chips, dips, and also stressing about how you're going to fit this extra giant plastic tray of pre-cut veggies and ranch dip in your fridge because SOMEONE can't read a text message letting everyone know that your friend Bill had already bought one at Kroger.  So while you're trying to figure out where to move the eggs to make room for the extra veggies to slowly dry out and turn white over the next couple of weeks before you finally trash them...your board goes unnoticed by your guests. Sadness.  So that said, we'll chalk the whole checkered flag thing up to a coincidence and say that this was NOT intended to be the official cutting board of NASCAR! ...unless of course, someone from the NASCAR organization happens upon this board and just can't imagine it NOT being the official butcher block of the sport and is just itching to cut our little woodshop a huge fat NASCAR-sized sponsorship check...then, well, everyone has a price they say. Let's talk!

Now, moving on from the psychotic ramblings and onto some info about the product you've apparently been patient enough to read this far into this description to learn about.

This is an END-grain butcher block, meaning that that the exposed surface area that you cut on is the center of the wood...going INTO the grain. While you're really splitting hairs with the differences - end-grain butcher blocks are slightly more durable than their edge-grain counterparts, because since you're cutting into the grain, it kinda heals itself a little quicker and better. Not to say that their counterparts are little weaklings...at the end of the day we're still talking about a nearly 2" hunk of wood.

This block design is made out of solid hardwood (duh) and consists of Walnut, Cherry, and Hard Maple. Like all of our products, I hand select the rough stock wood from my local family-owned lumber yard here in Nashville, and cut and plane the rough wood myself to be used in the work you see here.

All blocks are finished with a food-safe finish.

Now go on a get one, you know you want it!
